GAPP and Anderson Churches for Racial Unity (ACRU), along with Allen Temple A.M.E. Church will hold the Second Anniversary Commemoration of The Emanuel Nine, on June 15, 2017, 7:00 p.m.
The program will be a worship service promoting racial unity and remembering the lives of the saints who perished on June 17, 2015 at Emanuel AME Church, Charleston, South Carolina. This is the second annual joint commemoration service, bringing people together from across the city, and from many backgrounds and faiths.
The Presiders will be Rev. Alphonse Allen, Jr. D. Min. from Allen Temple, and Pastor Henry Zorn from Lutheran Church of the Resurrection. Pastor Nicole Kelly, also from Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, will preach. The music by combined community choirs will be under the direction of Dr. Marcellene Winfrey.
